The course of British Culture was established in the management of the then Dean Antonio Martins Filho, on December 4, 1964, on account of Resolution No. 166, of the University Council, taking the name of British Culture Center. The center of British culture began its activities on 2 August 1965, the General Coordinator of the Course of Culture Professor Newton Teophilo Gonçalves. Later the British Cultural Center started to be part of the Faculty of Arts of the Federal University of Ceará, then the Center for Humanities. This time changed its name to British House of Culture. The courses are taught at the center: an English course instrumental; CIPEP (course in English w / public school teachers), Cambridge, with certificates FCE and CAE, Upper-Intermediate Course.
